A beautiful late summer’s day
We have been to Barrington Court. Great place to visit with a fascinating history. We were fortunate to be on time for a guided tour.
The blip shows two buildings. On the right is Barrington Court and on the left is Strode House.
Barrington Court is not open to the public, it awaits National Trust starting a refurbishment programme,
Strode House is open and it holds information on the creation of the estate by Colonel Lyle in the 1920s.
Update. As we approached our hotel they rang to say there was a fire in the street so we had a diversion to the car park. The Chinese takeaway was on fire a few doors up from the hotel. The fire is now out, nobody injured but serious damage to the property. The road is still closed with lots of fire equipment filling the road.
