Cornwall Day 6: Eden Poject & Razorlight
After yesterday's lazy day we had the opposite sort of day today! Exploring the Eden Project and a rock concert - The Macabees and Razorlight.
Onto the concert in a moment ... first a reflection about the Eden Project.

I really like the premise of the Eden Project (and the place is very dramatic) - getting people to think about their impact on the environment and on their impact on the planet and plants in particular. There are lots of deep and important mesages and the ethos is that being self sufficient and envoironmentally conscious (ie; choosing how you spend your cash) can be fun too. Great stuff. Except I'm not sure that its getting through. They've made the place so accessible, brightly coloured, kid friendly and right on that the message is getting diluted. Perhaps that's the price you pay to get the message across to a wider audience.
Here's a small example: even though there are loads of obvious and colour coded bins asking you to seperate your rubbish most of the visitors fail to put the right thing in the right bin - making the whole lot useless.

The concert was fantastic. Razorlight were awesome and they rocked the place. I had planned to blip a shot from the concert but the securitypeople made me put my camera back in the car (no 'removeable lense cameras' apparantly). so plan B was to blip from my Blackberry and upload it there and then. But I couldn't get it to work.
Plan c: A nice shot of Mrs42 in front of some barley :-)
