Willow Emerald
Great excitement at RSPB Old Moor in Yorkshire this afternoon. I was pounced on as soon as I showed my card to get in with the question, 'Did I like dragonflies?' Is the Pope Catholic?
I was enthusiastically escorted to the nearest pond where there was a willow emerald damselfly lazily flying around. It's the first time they have been there for three years apparently which is great in that they were egg laying in the surrounding saplings. Wandering round to another pond there were two, one of which settled near me but against the light. Lovely to see!
Up now with mum.
