Marjorie's ramblings

Woolly Wonka

This is one of a series of illuminated sheep who are on the route of Hadrian’s Wall during September. This one is on the corner of the Military Road, opposite the Milecastle Inn.

I was in Haltwhistle this afternoon leading the celebration of Brian’s life. There was a cremation in the morning in Newcastle, then a large group of family and friends gathered in the Comrades Club this afternoon.

It went well. People from family and various parts of his life all contributed. In the main they kept to my 5 minute limit….!

The walkers were very well represented, from both the long and intermediate groups.

I was more nervous about today than when I spoke at Mum’s service. It has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster.

This morning I sat down to knit for half an hour. I was doing the decrease rows on a hat. Very easy but I miscounted 4 times and had to unpick it! Tells you something.

The sheep was a cheery end to the day. There was lots of laughter at Brian’s “do” as we shared memories of a lovely, lovely man.
