Inner Farne and a Rarity!

I've just lost all of my typed text so I'll keep this short ...

No castle today as we took a boat trip out to Inner Farne - not quite believing the weather or how calm the sea was.  Plenty of Shags, Gannets and heavily pregnant Seals to see, but the Puffins, Kittywakes, and Terns have departed so no dive bombing.

We did see an Ortolan Bunting - the bird eaten in France by gourmets with a tea towel over their heads .... I have no idea why!

Still sunny in the late afternoon so we cycled to Beadnell for an early dinner sat outside.

Cragside tomorrow then we will start heading south - Durham/Staithes/Saltburn and then wherever the weather looks ok.
