Toads in a hole
Nick disturbed these two toads when he was chopping logs. We think they might have been preparing to hibernate in the safety of the log pile. They didn’t hang around and crawled away to an area of undergrowth where they are unlikely to be disturbed. I thought their camouflage was excellent.
It was a lovely day and I managed to accomplish quite a lot in the garden.
Edit: Thanks to fellow blipper Intothehills for the correct identification of these amphibians as common frogs rather than toads.
