Paper wasps

The sedum the deer ate in early summer has come back to bloom. Not all of it but this little cluster was looking pretty in pink. With not much blooming the wasps and some bees are enjoying the nectar.

I got really close with the phone to this paper wasp but he did not even care. He has some strange eyes.

Good news at the orthopedic doctor. Jerry is clear to get back to walking. Boot outside for a week or so but inside he can wear shoes. He came home and put on his high top hiking boots that lace up above his ankle and offer great support. He will probably overdo but I am so glad we don’t have to deal with that knee scooter anymore. No more nurse duty or chauffeuring!

I already have made plans to run away from home in two weeks!


My granddaughter is almost to Oregon. She is going to spend the night at a family friend near Eugene and then go to Seaview, Washington on Thursday which is where her half sister has her apartment. She was so anxious to get there she has not done any touristy stuff! She has driven over 2500 miles in 5 days. Being 24 she drives until about 9 pm but gets a late start in the morning. She is not an early bird like her grandma. Thankful she had no problems on the drive!
