The golden hour

A beautiful day from north to south. I travelled by train from Edinburgh to London – sunshine all the way. The train was crowded and I was glad of my headphones as the person next to me was watching a film with the sound on (no headphones). I experience this quite a lot on public transport, whether it's someone flicking through reels on social media to folk streaming programmes. I feel so self-conscious making any noise that might not be welcomed by others, that I can't understand the folk who don't think to consider others.

It's so lovely to be back with Fred and Juno. As I hadn't walked much all week (chatting on comfy sofas and being driven here and there), I yearned to stretch my legs and ground myself on familiar soil so we walked to Norwood Grove, admired the view to Ikea Towers then watched the setting sun from Streatham Common. It was lovely to see so many people sitting on the grass or on benches taking in the view. Very peaceful.

It's nice to be home.
