Pleach

It was a beautiful morning with hardly a cloud in the sky so an ideal chance for a walk along the coast from Gullane towards North Berwick.   The sea was calm and there was hardly any wind as we walked through the dunes to the beach where we like to swim around high tide but not today..  The walk took us along sandy and stony beaches, beneath and along cliffs, through a little wood and along sand dunes.  We watched a heron on the rocks while we sat eating our picnic and could see the lighthouse on FIdra with the Isle of May beyond and a glimpse of the new offshore wind farm being built far off in the distance.  On the way back on the bus there was a very good view of hundreds of geese and other birds resting on the shore at the high tide and a bonus for bird photographers.  It was good not to have to wear a jumper or jacket for a change.
