Abelia in the Sun..

… As I hope my washing will be before too long!

I’ve had a Big Tidy Up in the little room where the washing machine (new washing machine!) lives. Who knew there was a floor in there? And I’ve thrown out/given away lots of things that should have gone years ago… I have lots of new dusters.

(Note to self, ‘do try dusting now and again’).

The first load is counting down now (apparently you can hoosh it along and quicken it from the suggested 4 hour cycle. Frabjous day).

What really hits home, when these everyday appliances bite the dust, is how much we take them for granted.
And how much fitter our grandparents must have been without them. I recall my own Grandmother hauling a heavy rug outside to beat it. Cough, splutter.
(Whatever happened to carpet beaters?!).
