Memories

As the tide was going out we decided to return to Brancaster Beach this morning. That way Merlin could have a run on the sand and expend some energy. There were just a few people and dogs scattered along the expanse of beach, and groups of sea gulls and oyster catchers calling to each other.

We returned to the cottage for lunch then ventured eastward along the coast to Cley, Blakeney and Stiffkey. At Cley we visited the pottery. I’d been there over 20 years ago and bought several bowls that I still love and use today. So it was interesting to visit again and get a little bowl as a reminder of our holiday. Stiffkey has an interesting maritime heritage centre which contains several locally restored wooden boats. These include the Lucy Lavers - an ex-life boat and Dunkirk veteran boat.

In Extras - Brancaster Beach at low tide, and Merlin  enjoying the sea air.
