Mulching

Between last week and today we removed the ground cover from this bed. It was starting to choke out some of the shrubs and it draped over the wall in some places. This customer's father-in-law, who is also one of my customers, wanted some to put on a bank at his place. Last week we spent several hours moving it from one house to another. We removed more today and hauled it away. With the fresh mulch, it gives a much cleaner look to the bed.

When I arrived at the jobsite this morning, the next door neighbor (also my customer) was just coming out her driveway. He asked if we were at his place today, or next door. I told him that we had mulch coming for next door. He said he has more work he wants done this fall, so I spent a half hour walking around his property. We have another 2 days of work at his property.

This evening, a friend called to let me know that a mutual friend had been taken to the hospital, her doctor suspected she had a TIA. She had not been feeling good last week, then I didn't hear from her this week. J called her on Monday, but she refused to go to the hospital. Then she called J today to drive her to her doctor's office, and he told her to go to the hospital. J had problems getting her in and out of her car. As it happened her physiotherapist called to check on her, and she was able to come and take her to the hospital. For now, she is still there. M has called me and asked me to be on stand by to pick her up, if they let her go home. I suspect they will keep her there for a few days. Her handyman, who I have met a few times over the years, lives just down the street from me. M had already called him to let him know, and to make arrangements for him to feed her cat, since he has a key to her place. We exchanged phone numbers tonight to make it easier to keep each other up to date on how she is doing.
