Another Murky Day....

...not even a peep of sun, although no rain. It sure felt damp and cool!

I did a bunch of puttering around the house, followed by a quick grocery shopping. Then decided to work on my courtyard - I took out the prolific cucumber vine. I figure at this point it's not going to produce much more and I'd much rather get the winter lettuce and greens started. So I added more soil to the raised bed in my courtyard and planted two different mixes of winter lettuce/greens and a row of radishes. I'll do the same with the big raised bed in the HOA plot this week. I've actually taken out everything except two tomatoes...and they're slowing down too.

These big, crazy-looking Echinaceas are fascinating, but I've never found them particularly robust. They seem to poop out after a year or two, but that was in my old garden. Fun to look at though! There are two large nurseries here in Western Oregon that hybridize these babies, so we have access to a lot of interesting cultivars!
