A pair of brown eyes

Bean really really wanted to go for a walk. She switched on all the tricks with her big brown eyes. Especially the over the shoulder beseeching look.

It worked. Of course.

The highlight of the day was that I dug two holes with a spade. The first since May. It was to test my back (as well as to plant a couple of new kowhai trees which will attract more bellbirds and tui when they are mature) according to Nicola the physio's instructions - to nudge myself to do more physical work in the garden.

I passed with flying colours. Happy days.

The extra is the result of 36 hours of sourdough-making.
