Anne's Daily Encounters

Iraklion suburbs

Driving Sweetheart to the doctor in Iraklion today; no big health issues fortunately, but a consult with a dental surgean as 2of his wisdom teeth trouble him and must be removed. The little surgery will happen in 3weeks time.
It's quite a drive over 150 kms to get to the doctor in Crete 's academic hospital; the hospital on the island for serious health issues and other wise one must go to a specific hospital in Athens. Those distances for medical care are unknown to me, mainly because I don't need such care, but also because the Netherlands is small in size and large in densely covered with health care etc (although, that is in trouble due to its costs)

While Sweetheart was in the belly of the building, I walked a bit in its neighbourhood and pictured this looking East-wards. As we'd travelled from West to East, I know that clouds covered all of Crete and little after I took this Blip lightning and thunder set off the rain showers what were welcomed by all around me in the coffee and sandwich booth close to the hospital, where others awaited their dear ones, like I did.
