Pied Butcherbird

This handsome bird lives in the park down the road from me; I passed by on the way to the CityCat.

Public transport here in Queensland costs only 50 cents per trip on bus, ferries or trains, even the long distance train journeys. That's just over 25 pence equivalent however long the journey - amazing. Although the state government says it's for a trial period, it seems the new very low fares could be here to stay. Great news!
