Lock, stock and no smoking barrels

Today's blip was taken from the terrace of the Fuller's pub, Lock, Stock and Barrel, in Newbury which sits alongside the Kennet and Avon canal. We were there to meet my wife's great nephew, Tom, who lives in Australia but has been  in England  with his girlfriend, Angelica, visiting family. They're flying back to Sydney on Sunday and this was the only opportunity to see them and to meet Angelica for the first time. Tom's grandmother, Sally, my wife's sister-in-law, came with them. We enjoyed a pub lunch and did a great deal of catching up. I hadn't been to Newbury before which is odd as it's only an hour away, and it looked a pleasant town to visit again, and explore the canal, at a later date. The Kennet and Avon canal is 87 miles long and runs from Bristol, firstly following, the River Avon and then the Kennet before it enters the Thames at Reading. As for the name of the pub, did it pre-date the Guy Ritchie film?  Perhaps he used to sup his ale here with his then wife, Madonna. Apparently she was very partial to a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord, although I don't know whether that would have been available in a Fuller's pub.
