Admiralty

I went to my mother’s today, to deliver groceries and chat with her and E. It was another lovely day, and we‘d have loved to have lunch on the terrace. But my mother‘s neighbour had gardeners cutting the hegdes and trimming the grass - all with very noisy machines. So we had to stay inside.

After I got home, I was determined to enjoy the relative silence of our own garden, and sat outside in the last sunshine of the day.

The buddleja was even busier than earlier this week. At one point, I saw four red admirals and one hummingbird hawk-moth on the buddleja flowers. I don‘t remember seeing that many butterflies at once, all this summer.
