A Long Road

This is my 5000th entry. It was disappointingly dull, but despite the poor light, it was dry and quite mild so I set off to see if I could find something special for my Blip birthday. I checked to see if there were any Little Owls where they are often to be found. No joy. There have been lots of reports of skeins of Pink-footed Geese flying over - I met a couple who had seen some, but I didn’t. I saw a Kestrel which quickly dipped out of sight, and heard and saw the small dark shapes of Chiffchaff, Skylark, Robins, assorted Tits, and Goldfinches, so it was an enjoyable walk but nothing for the camera.
Instead, I’m blipping my road. It struck me as an apt metaphor for my Blip journey. It’s a long one and, I meet lots of interesting people along it. I love the concept of posting an image on the day it was taken. The result is a journal that helps me keep track of the where’s and when’s of my life. As I’m getting older and not as fit as I was, finding things to photograph becomes more challenging but I’ve every intention of continuing as long as I can. As always, a big thank you to the lovely blippers who call in on my journal.
