Bus Challenge No 223

All Saints Church, Farmborough

With some difficulty got Dad off to daycare then headed out to meet up with my BC friend who’d come over from Bath on the bus so that we could then catch a further bus that took us south through the Somerset countryside to the village of Farmborough.

I’d planned a short walk that took us along a country lane before entering the village, taking in all the beautiful old buildings, including the 17th century Manor House and 14th century church. The village’s history goes back even further and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. 

A more recent addition to the village is the community shop and café and before our return bus we stopped off for a very tasty cinnamon pastry. I also picked up some apples that someone had kindly put out in their garden for passerbys. Scenes from our village walk in extras.

Only a short outing but that suited me fine, still so weary, plus I got home before the thunder and torrential rain arrived at lunchtime.

Total bus journey time = 30mins
