We have a small vineyard near Malvern and today saw the picking of part of the crop.

We've never done this before but I picked whilst Hubs scratted the grapes which is that he pushed the crop through the scratter which breaks up the skins ready for the next stage. He then took that to the hundred year old French press that we store in the stable to squeeze out the juice.

I had an emergency appointmentment at the dentists as the toothache I've had for a couple of weeks got hugely worse and I didn't know where to put myself. My dentist doesn't work Fridays so saw another dentist, had an x-ray and then a good deal shaved of the tops of the teeth to make my bite less painful. I have to go back asap but dentist is then away for the week and it's going to be over two weeks before I get another appointment. Fantastic. Looks like it might be a root canal and or crown scenario. Ugh. It was shored up on painkillers that I did the grape picking this afternoon. The dogs kept us company  with the thunder rolling all around us but we got no rain.

On getting home we had hailstones littering the garden and road but inside water was pouring through the conservatory roof as the hail had blocked the gutters there was so much of it. I've never seen anything quite like the swimming pool there was on the floor to soak up.
