New beginnings
The fern frond, a spiral shape known as a koru in New Zealand where it is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing. It's a symbol that represents new beginnings, life and hope.
It seems appropriate to restart blipping with this image, taken on a bush walk along the Nile River (West Coast NZ, not Africa!) I'm away at the moment on a photographic weekend with local top-of-the-South camera clubs. The West Coast is renown for it's rain and whilst I didn't get rained on today, there's been plenty of rain about.......even thunder and lightning.
Another reason to post this koru is as a symbol of new beginnings for F, K and the boys. F & K head back to England on Monday after what has been a long and traumatic couple of months. They desperately want to be back at home......they need to be home, and home they will be on Tuesday evening. The countdown is on to what will surely be two very happy new beginnings....... xx
