September Light

Low sun, bright reflections, dark shadows, hazy light. Passing boats, wakes, water rippling, waves washing in, gently lapping, reeds bobbing. Sunlight filtered, leaves waiting to fall, late afternoon heat, simmering, indistinct distant suburban sounds. A season fading, hollow feeling.
