Morning ablutions

On an early visit to the Arboretum, trying to beat the heat, I captured this goose enjoying her morning beauty routine. It took her quite a while to get ready for the day and involved a lot of primping and preening. Who knew that geese were vain?

Good thing that I headed out early for my photos because this was another hot day. Back up to the 90s with plenty of humidity. Tell the truth, I didn't get anything done that I couldn't do in my cooled down office. I love my little hideaway! I am not nearly as hardy as Bob, who spent the day outdoors, weeding, trimming, and all that. I think he actually enjoys it. Hot and humid is not my favorite weather forecast. Tomorrow sounds a little better, and I can't wait.
