Another day of rest!

Another walk along the beach in Ravenglass, this time over the bridge and northwards. A nice leisurely walk as it was pretty hot. I'm so glad I packed shorts and t shirts. I very nearly didn't, it wasn't warm when we left.

To the station cafe for coffee and cake and a nice surprise to see that the old signal box was open today. Very interesting to have levers and bells and lights explained and hear what would have been carried on this line in the past, fish from Whitehaven going to London, iron ore mined locally  and cattle and sheep to markets, as well as people.

Later another walk to see some poor derelict boats that we'd spied through the bridge arch this morning. Sad to see them sitting in the mud of the estuary, once someone's pride and joy, now abandoned. Still some nice shiny white catamarans though!

It's  been another lovely sunny day in Cumbria.
