Sgwarnog: In the Field

Seen

The first day of autumn, and experience has shown me that it may be eighteen degrees in the sunshine, but a fleece and coat will be needed tucked away in the shade of the main stand at Valley Parade.

Bradford City v AFC Wimbledon is one of my most seen fixtures, with this being the sixth meeting between the two that I’ve attended here in the last seven years, three in League One and three in League Two.

City’s bright start to the season has lost momentum in over the past couple of weeks, and the Wombles made the going tough again today. City shaded the first half, but Wimbledon came back into it more in the second. It remained goalless though, the third 0-0 in the last four meetings between the sides here in Bradford.

Today’s image is the moment before kick-off, with Wimbledon’s 300+ fans long-traveled tucked away in the far corner, but still making themselves heard among the 16000 Bantams.
