Doors Open Days Glasgow
We have packed in three tours today. The first was a visit to the Glasgow School of Art Archives & Collections at the Whisky Bond, Port Dundas, at 10.00. We were shown three of the five rooms they have in the building where they store and curate many artefacts from the school of art including a lot of Rennie Mackintosh furniture.
Next at 11.30 we visited the Alasdair Gray Archive also in the Whisky Bond. This was my favourite of the three visits.

After a quick sandwich on the go we joined a walking tour along the Forth & Clyde Canal from Hamiltonhill Claypits Nature Reserve to the Kelvin Aqueduct led by a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, to learn about the part the canal has played over the years in the development of Glasgow.
Heading out again tonight to a jazz concert at The Merchant’s House in Glasgow. With hindsight, I think I may have booked too many things for one day but with so much on offer it’s easy to go a bit mad!
