Deluge

Up very early as we had to pack, strip beds and empty bins, eat up the remaining fruit and generally get ourselves organised in time to meet C for our lift to the bus station at 8.30am. We did well, even managing a trip to the bakers to buy some tasty pastries for our time on the bus and in the airport.
When we arrived at the bus station we waited by the airport bus but got worried when there was no sign of the driver. Luckily C saw there was an issue and came over to talk to the supervisor who said we should wait at a different stand….I’d never have done that otherwise as it seemed sensible to wait with the big red airport bus, but she assured us we should go to a different stand where (albeit late) sure enough another bus arrived, without the name of the airport on it but with assurances from the driver. We got on with a couple of others, but several more were still waiting with the red bus…..luckily for us we made the right decision and arrived at the airport in plenty of time. Straightforward wait there then after a lot of queuing we got on the plane and dozed most of the way home. Cloud cover most of the way after we left Italy so we didn’t see much, but were soon landed nd were pleasantly surprised by it being fairly warm albeit not as sunny as when we left Padua.
We found the car and had a straightforward drive home, although heavy rain started not far from K’s house and carried on, with thunder and lightning, most of the evening. We stopped en route to buy some things for supper. just as well we did…O and Ot were there, as well as A and T. I slumped out a bit, chatting to them all whilst K made supper. Ot’s language has come on even in the week since we last saw him…he was talking in 3 and 4 word sentences (eg ‘massive robot fell down’) and entertaining us all with dancing and rolling around as well as getting all the cars and duplo out.
After supper we watched an episode of university challenge but didn’t manage to answer many then chatted until it was time for bed…very early in UK time!
