The Lozarithm Lens

Pinboard #25 (Monday 23rd September 2024)

As Autumn officially began, today we were treated to a month's worth of rain. At least I had a lot of new music to soundtrack my day at the PC. I decided to refresh one of my pinboards so that I would have a blip by which to record the day for posterity.
From left to right we have some Rocky Horror Show instructions; two pages of commemorative stamps (from a Sunday Times magazine section, I think); Karen Gillan as Amy Pond in Dr Who; Return of Not The Nine O'Clock News (1982)(Radio Times, 25p) and Dante Gabriel Rosetti's Head Of Andromeda.(1868), when he was 40.

Astral Bakers - Cherry-Coloured Funk (2024)
Cocteau Twin covers are almost unknown. Who would dare take on the vocals of Elizabeth Fraser? Paris-based  band Astral Bakers included one in their live set and apparently enjoyed playing it so much that they recorded it and it has just been released it as a single, exactly 34 years after the release of the Cocteau's Heaven Or Las Vegas, from which the song Cherry-Coloured Funk opened the album.
