Another Work Party

A good number of people turned up for the work party but after we’d re-arranged the trailers and boats in the north yard, attention turned to the piles of earth left by the previous party. Plenty shovels but only one barrow. It’s not ideal.
And much later, off to the Cameo to see My Favourite Cake, an Iranian film about an encounter between two oldies. It’s had good reviews but I must say I found it a bit slight. I have a slight suspicion that it’s been getting marked up as it’s old folks and therefore somehow cute. If it was a young couple in the same story…. nothing to see here.
And Naismith has been finished up by Hearts. I’m pretty sad about that - even as a player he was always coaching and mentoring and he's a decent bloke. Hey ho, it's a results business. As for the fans, some of them need their heads examined. “Now get a name in that is a proven winner and get the club back on track” opines one, as if “proven winners” are hanging about waiting for a call from the greatest team on earth. I’ll have what he’s drinking.
