Holiday planning…
Spent most of the day figuring out what to do about these upcoming holiday vaccinations. People have told us we don't need ANY, while others have told us we just go to the doctor and tell them what we need. JR popped in to the doc this morning, asking about tetanus (from the list the surgery gave us, the ones we got ten 10 years need a top up). The surgery gave us an NHS phone number, which turned out to be the COVID hotline, and when I got through to them, they said, no, the doctor must refer us to them. ‘And they know that…’ she added, with more than a hint of annoyance.
I then rang the travel agent, who told us that no country (on our itinerary) insists on any vaccinations. Besides, we're on a cruise, and in cities, not remote parts. I then rang the chemist who told me that the three vaccines he'd recommend - Hep A, tetanus and typhoid, would cost £135. So, we're having none of them. And saving £270.
I've spent a lot of time browsing 'What to do in Hong Kong' - so much to see!! We've got a half day private tour for the first day. The HOHO bus for day 2, and I need to get up to that Big Buddha, but NOT via the thousands of steps!! Definitely a cruise on the harbour. We'll miss out on LOTS, but just being there will be fantastic!
Archie has been out a total of FIVE walks today. Not sure of his step count, or mine (phone still recording ZERO!)
