I don't usually put spiked tyres on until after the first frost on the wiggly slope up to Hawkhill Avenue, but seeing as the singlespeed is currently fully-functional I might try putting spikes AND the wider mudguards I've had in the garage for over a year on the other bike in anticipation of leaf-mulch-on-utility-access-hatch season.
