Rogue Cumulonimbi
Well, a Monday morning without going to work is one of life’s true pleasures—for me, at least. I dropped the boys in town earlier than usual, as Gubs had his driving theory test at 8:30 a.m., then took the scenic route home along the country lanes. The autumn weather was perfect… comfortably warm, with a hint of breeze to freshen the air. Sun and fluffy white clouds were occasionally interrupted by rogue cumulonimbi that stalked the landscape with brief sneak attacks of rain.
I took today’s photo on Coldred Road, about a mile from Eythorne, looking across the fields towards Shepherdswell and Barfrestone. A bright spotlight of sun highlights the ploughed earth and fragments of stubble with a warm glow against the moody sky.
