Melk and Dürnstein today
Backblip
Today was quite busy with two visits of beautiful villages. In the morning we went to see Melk Abbey on a lovely guided tour and then took a walk through the center of Melk village. We were happy to find a quirky little shop which sold only cat-related items! Of course we bought a thing or two.
In the afternoon we visited Dürnstein and it is a very charming village. After walking through the main street/s and buying samples of wine and strangely named chocolate candy (Rabbit Shit!), I decided to walk the steep hills up to the ruins of Dürnstein castle. Daníel and my mother didn't want to go with me as it was quite a hot day and it would be very tiring. I was determined and admittedly it was rather exhausting, but really rewarding when I was finally up there! The view - Oh wow!
The photo today shows a little bit of the precipitous path and steps up to the ruins and some of the lovely view down to the villages and river Danube.
Lots of extra photos today :)
