Florence

I have chosen to blip Florence today as she was laying on the lawn! The hot weather has taken its toll of the upper part of the garden, although the lower lawns and orchard are still quite green. It is much cooler today, only twenty-four degrees Celsius.

My Dell appears to have a hard drive problem and I have been keeping it going, using an external drive, until my last group of students had completed their module. Today I have spent time loading software onto my Sony laptop which Mr A gave me on Monday 1 April 2013. As some of you might remember, I purchased some discounted software (Office 2013), on Thursday 4 April 2013, through the OU discount scheme and have been fighting with Microsoft ever since to obtain an activation code. I then handed the matter over to the credit card company who have, after several telephone and email communications, credited my account with my refund. However, the credit card company have warned that the third party company in Germany, who are the go-between Microsoft and customer, have forty-five days to refute this. The third party company, where the money goes, have already emailed me to tell me that it is not their policy to refund money, even if the software does not work!

I am now going to visit my daughter and her family to meet the Italian student that she has staying with her for three weeks. He is from Livigno where we usually ski and where we know his family as well as many others.
