Grey Heron
There were 3 Heron today. The original young one and the adult male were waiting on the tenement roof and flew down when I arrived. The little female (pictured) joined them then made for the clearing. The original young one did the same and made for her clearing. The male flew back to the centre of the loch.
I was speaking to some of the dog walkers and they were saying that the council alowed the Botanic Gardens to offload some Koi Carp into the loch. As they are quite preitory they think that they are eating everything that the birds would normally eat and driving them off. I will need to submit a FOI request to see if this is true. It was still very quiet today.
