Madrid Calling

I don't know how The Clash were viewed in Madrid when their classic London Calling album came out in 1980 but it was good to see Joe Strummer remembered in street art there. Glastonbury Festival has a corner of its vast site known as Strummerville, which is away from the hurly burly and a nice place to chill out and listen to some quieter music. I was a bit too staid and getting into career and domesticity when punk burst onto the scene but always thought The Clash and The Jam were rock bands despite being packaged as punk. I was certainly not a fan of The Sex Pistols - tuneless, discordant, headbanging noise. Another back blip means I didn't do much today but did enjoy meeting up with fellow blipper and former NHS colleague,
Eyecatching, for coffee at Basil and Blue. And popped into the local garage afterwards to get a duff dipped headlight bulb replaced.
