Net Shops

Rye, Winchelsea, Hastings and Bexhill were on our itinerary today. All such interesting places.

These are the unique buildings on the shingle beach at Hastings which were built to store fishing gear. They were built narrow and tall so more could be constructed on what was then a narrow beach. The nets at the time were made of organic material so it was important that they were stored well. Hastings still has a number of fishing boats and it was great to walk amongst them on the beach.

It’s been a great 2 day interlude away from the building work!!
