A day in the life

Rehearsal

The morning was spent planning what to play on Friday and rehearsing the music, some of which we never played before and then fixing the order of text and music. We're doing two performances during an annual Harvest festival on Öland.

There are four of us, Thomas who plays base clarinet, Johan, an actor and a singer, Ove plays the cello but also took this picture, and me, playing the guitars, singing and arranging the music. We had a lot of fun and was very effective though we could have used more time polishing. The problem is that everyone has a lot on their agenda and when the time is up, they have to go. We managed to do a runthrough of the whole 25 minute performance  though and I find the performance-idea fun to work with. Johan, the actor has written a script where he is acting Shakespeare who is working on a play and also presenting his friend John Dowland, who helps him with the music. The thread winds quite freely from 1600 till today, in an entertaining way, I hope, so I think the audience will have a fun moment. More about the whole event on Friday, or Saturday.
