A smooth crossing which came with an early start as we were woken at 5.45 prior to our arrival in Caen at 6.45.

Our drive to Confolens was straightforward- a mixture of péage and smaller roads as we neared our destination.

After unpacking we paid a visit to T's parents old place. We had hoped to collect some photos but there was no-one home. I enjoyed the drive over and seeing it again and all the memories it evoked.

Mi, whom we are staying with (and who stayed with us last year), made a wondeful meal for this evening and we were joined by M-J and Ma who stayed with us previously and whom we stayed with when we visited in 2019.

The meal included fresh figs, goats cheese, the nicest carrots I've ever tasted and two desserts. 

We also enjoyed a very nice Pineau des Charante as an aperitif.

A lovely start to our time in France.
