The Swing
Long before we bought our house, I used to pass it when I took my babies for a walk. The house itself is ugly and ordinary, but I loved the spot that it sat on and I loved this swing that faced the setting sun. I used to wish that my house was right on the spot where this house sits, and that I could sit on that swing and watch the sunset.
Several years later we passed by and saw that the house was being auctioned. I came to look at it and discovered that for as ugly as the outside was, the inside was a hundred times uglier - really! - so we bought it?! You did what?! Yes, we bought the ugly, smelly house because I liked the spot it sat on :0)
And now we live in the ugly house, which is slightly less ugly as we very slowly fix it up...the floors are all bare concrete because the carpets were so disgusting we had to take them all out, half of the walls need sanding and texturing and lots of it needs painting...lots of things don't work and the list of things to do is never ending...but I really don't care because when I got outside I know Im in the right spot, and the swing that faces the sunset is all mine.
