Visit

Had a visit from our friend Sue B, who's staying over in Northumbria for a week (so zoomed up from Alnmouth on the train). I went to meet her at Waverley and we got the bus down to Leith for a lunch at the Vaults. (D decided not to come, as although it isn't COVID his coughing is pretty anti-social). We had a good lunch and a great blether (is it really ten years since we last met? Think it must be......). Then, during a break in the clouds, we walked down the Shore to the swing bridge to check out the swans, who were obligingly all there bar one cygnet. S very taken with the Merchant Seaman memorial, as her late friend Steve had had a brief spell in the Merchant navy in his youth. Then we walked on to OT as I had a prescription to collect, and back up to the city centre via tram.

Another quiet night in.

As we passed along the Shore, the cormorant was drying his wings - hadn't seen him for a while. Bonus moorhen.
