The Deed Is Done
The dreaded day arrived. The threatening clinic was entered. How do you pretend it's not your name they're calling?
Well, a couple of hours later he emerged with eye shield and arrowed brow.
His vision was blurred and he needed his dark prescription glasses from the car and my arm to guide him. I was so surprised he agreed to go, looking like this to a nearby cafe I'd been told about by ladies in the waiting room.
They weren't just an ice-cream parlour, they did lunches so we were sorted! I drove as gently as I could home and The Man dozed so he missed me looping-the-loop in Kendal as I took a right turn too soon!
I must say he and I were both surprised by how well the whole thing had gone and how comfortable he felt.
