on the stairs

we stayed the night at a small chateau , L'Abeaupiniere, and I took this from the top of the stairs as we were checking out this morning. We had an overnight ferry booked and time spare but as it rained heavily for much of the day we just made a brief service station stop and arrived early in Le Havre. We've been to Le Havre many times but always driven straight to or from the port. I hadnt realised how much there is to see or that its a Unesco listed site for its architecture. We had a brief look inside the fabulous St Joseph church, which was about to close , but my photos didnt do it justice. The extra is of the 'vulcan' building , a theatre space and library designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
