More rain, more postal deliveries of powerful music. We seem to be in a golden age of television and Peaky Blinders, which ran for five series, was particularly compelling, with a strong cast, including Helen McCrory and Cillian Murphy. The soundtrack was always a striking feature. Nick Cave's Red Right Hand was the theme tune, its title deriving from Milton's poem Paradise Lost, where it represents the vengeance that the Old Testament God might wreak against human sinners, of whom there are plenty in Peaky Blinders, mostly damaged World War One survivors. Later in the series PJ Harvey recorded a new version of the song especially for the show.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Laura Marling - A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall (2017)
By order of the Peaky Blinders: this version of Dylan's apocalyptic protest song was specially commissioned for Series 4.
Although the short spoken extracts from the soundtrack are not numbered on the tracklist (see Extra), they are separately banded on the CD, making it very difficult to find and play the track you want.
