Pic de Casamanya
We set off from the Col d’Orlino and hiked up to the summit at 2,735 metres. It was quite a slog over difficult terrain. There were quite a few places where we had to be extremely careful as the drops were vertiginous. It was certainly not a place for anyone suffering from vertigo! The cloud ceiling was at 2,300 metres so our visibility was poor as we climbed to the top and it was quite cold. We had our sandwiches and as we started to descend, miraculously the swirling mist cleared and we had amazing views down to the two valleys on either side of the ridge. I’m quite tired tonight but it was an excellent day and a long soak in a hot bath helped ease some aching limbs!
