Welcome to the family Indy.
I spotted this beautiful boy on line about 3 weeks ago. We've kind of been thinking about getting another as Eva might only have one more summer riding Jack (I mean jumping and xc etc- weight wise he'll always carry her so she will always be able to hack him). He was in Ireland with a dealer. I enquired thinking he'd be silly money. He wasn't. Which got me thinking.... No I can't buy a horse unseen from a dealer in Ireland. I procrastinated for ages, asked for some vids. Watched them a hundred times, tried to forget about him and couldn't. Tried to arrange for an agent to view him on my behalf. That didn't happen. Dealer went quiet. All the red flags flapping wildly at me. I ignored them and put down a deposit. Got him vetted (he passed). Then everything went quiet for about 5 days and I'm worried the dealer has done a runner with my £. Then everything happened- "he'll be on the lorry tomorrow night! " paid the balance. He arrived just after 8pm last night on a big horsey disco bus stalled for 12!! He walked off the ramp had a sniff, I wanted to walk him off a bit but he just wanted to eat so he went straight into the stable and was so chilled like he has lived here all his life!!
Eva had seen his video initially but I told her I wasn't prepared to buy unseen. She really liked him but I told her he had gone. We told her that I was stuck at the yard with a flat tyre last night and she could come down with Mike to say hi to Jack when they came to rescue me. She ran round the corner to say hi to Jack and gave him cuddles. Then I told her to go and look in the other stable. Her reaction was just priceless. She couldn't believe it!!
He's only a baby and very very green so will be a bit of a project for us to get our teeth into and have some fun with, knowing that he hasn't been wrecked or hammered around by someone else . I'm just so relieved he's so chilled and such a nice person. Exciting times ahead.
