Rain Fly
More rain and still very few ivy visitors. :(
Crane flies are making an appearance. They have such short lifespans that many don't eat. They're just looking for love. This female was unlucky, hanging onto the ivy bush covered in rain droplets. She comes from one of oldest known groups of flies. They first appeared 245 million years ago.
I spotted a buzzard in fairly decent storm light a long way away on the leylandii hedge behind the glasshouses. I rushed indoors, grabbed the 800mm and got the shot in extras from the garden.
