Rainyday Afternoon
A quiet shift at Aber Cafe today. Just two of us running the show and apart from the rush half hour of the lunchtime train, it was easy work. Such a contrast to the peak season just a few weeks ago. Here is the last down train departing just after I'd locked up. The fireman pictured has been a volunteer here since he was young ... his day job is as Senior Curator at the National Railway Museum, he and his daughter, an assistant guard, are regular visitors here.
I had popped into pottery before work to get the liner glaze inside various vases and a mug. It's a dipping/pouring glaze, so a very quick one to apply. Meg had a short walk there too and Jamie came in to mine to sit with her for a bit later in the day. After work a quick turnaround to get Jamie home before Choir tonight which is quite different to Tuesday singing but still fun. Choir is only an hour so I'll be getting my glazing brushes out for a little while before bedtime.
