Helophilus pendulus

This is a very common hoverfly that has a number of common names:
Marsh Hoverfly
Tiger Hoverfly
The Footballer
Even an erroneous translation of the Latin giving it the name Sunfly.
(Helo = Marsh, it is Helio that means Sun)

This was found on an Osteospermum in my garden
